Choose pattern size by chest measurement. Patterns have approx. 3" ease in the chest, 0" in the waist. Waist and lengths are easily changed. This allows for different body types (i.e. muscular or lean) to choose the right size. Muscular boys and men need to pump up BEFORE measuring as this can add quite a bit to the measurement.
Patterns also change slightly to accommodate the changing body shape, Boys, Young Men, and Men.
